Spring is Here!

(Tune: Are You Sleeping)

Spring is here. Spring is here.
Goodbye snow. Flowers grow.

Birds and bees, leaves on trees.
Hello, spring. Hello, spring!

It has been a fantastic adventure watching each Busy Bee grow in their own special way this year!  We love each and every one of them!

Happy Mother’s Day to all you wonderful MOMS!

All our best,
Teacher Lisa and Teacher Lindsay

Three cheers for the Busy Bees!  They are all growing in so many ways!  Our biggest joy is to see them be kind and loving friends.  They love helping one another!

March 2017

I’m a Fish
(Sung to “I’m a Little Teapot)

I’m a little fishy, I can swim.
Here is my tail, here is my fin.
When I want to have fun with my friends,I wiggle my tail and dive right in!

Under the sea we will go this month! We will be exploring many of the mysteries in the ocean and discovering the sea creatures that live in and near the ocean.  We will create some beautiful ocean art work too!

We will also explore Community Helpers this month. Together we will discover all the important things that these helpers do for our communities and neighborhoods. Doctors, policemen, postmen and firemen are just a few of the important helpers we’ll be discussing. We will even have some special visitors!

All the best,
Teacher Lisa and Teacher Lindsay

February 2017

This month, UNDER THE BIG TOP we will go!  Our circus theme is always thrilling!  We will be exploring the animals, colors, and shapes that we find at the circus.  Of course we will clown around a little bit too!

Round is a pancake.  Round is a plum.
Round is a doughnut. Round is a drum.
Round is a puppy, curled up on a rug.
Round are the spots, on a wee ladybug.
Look all around on the ground, in the air,
You will find round things everywhere!
(Even at the circus!)

Love is in the air this month!  We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a LOVELY party and we will be passing out valentines to each of our friends!  Our party days are Monday, February 13th and Tuesday February 14th.  More details will follow soon.

Share the love this month!
Teacher Lisa and Teacher Lindsay

January 2017

Happy New Year to our Busy Bee families!  Winter has definitely arrived so we’re going to start off the year with some winter fun!  We’ll be learning about snow and ice, polar bears and penguins and lots of other “chilly” things!

Our virtue is RESPECT

The Busy Bees are really “growing up” in so many ways…it’s such a joy to see them listen to each other, cooperate, obey the rules, and take turns and share and be helpful!  Those are tough things to do when you are just turning three!  We are proud of them!

Wishing you all health, joy and laughter for the New Year!
Teacher Lisa and Teacher Lindsay

December 2016

“Have a holly, jolly Christmas;
It’s the best time of the year!”

This month we will focus on Christmas and talk about Jesus’ special birthday!   There will be plenty of anticipation and exuberance in the Busy Bee room (and your home too!) during this amazing time of year! We will try to channel that energy as we make holiday crafts, special gifts, and practice for our Young Child’s Christmas Service.

We will also have a special visit from Santa on our Christmas party days, December 21st and 22nd…it is so much fun to see the children light up when they see him!  If your child is not very comfortable with Santa please let the teachers know ahead of time.  Thanks!

During this very special time of year be sure to take time to enjoy your child and experience Christmas through their joy and excitement!  This is a wonderful time to teach them about the joy of giving and the joy of being with one another!

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
Teacher Lisa and Teacher Lindsay

November 2016

This month the Busy Bees are taking an imaginary trip to the FARM.  Cows, chickens, horses and pigs too…we will be learning all about these fun animals!

Here’s a cute FARM song we will be learning/singing this month.  Maybe you would like to sing it together at home too!

THE ANIMALS ON THE FARM
(Tune: Wheels on the Bus)

The cow in the barn goes moo, moo, moo,
Moo, moo, moo, moo, moo, moo,
The cow in the barn goes moo, moo, moo,
All around the farm!

The pig in the pen goes oink, oink, oink…
The hens in the coop go cluck, cluck, cluck…
The lambs on the hill baa, baa, baa,
The ducks in the pond go quack, quack, quack…

We will also be talking about being grateful for all the good gifts God gives us every single day!  Each and every little Busy Bee will be on our Thanksgiving list!

The Busy Bees are enjoying school and making new friends!  It’s a delight to see.

Thanksgiving blessings to all,
Teacher Lisa and Teacher Lindsay

October 2016

In the month of September we “started our engines” and we are off to a smooth start!   The boys and girls are settling in and adapting to their new classroom and routines.  Our drop-off smiles definitely out-weigh the tears now.  It is a joy to see their little friendships growing each day.

This month we will be discovering the season of fall as we learn about pumpkins, scarecrows, colorful falling leaves, apples and of course, Halloween.  Our color of the month is orange and our shape is the square.  We’d like to share our fun poem we will be learning this month:

The leaves are falling down,
The leaves are falling down,
Red, yellow, orange and brown,
The leaves are falling down!

We are looking forward to a year full of excitement and new discoveries!

Fall blessings,
Teacher Lisa, Teacher Lindsay and Teacher Teresita

May 2016

Oh my, I can’t believe this is our last month of the school year. What’s the buzz about? The beautiful month of May will be all about SPRING!  Birds, bugs, and flowers will be all over our classroom!

Happy Mother’s Day to you.
Happy Mother’ Day to you.
Happy Mother’s Day, dear Mommy,
Happy Mother’s Day to you!

Of course, we will be celebrating our special moms with a lovely Mother’s Day Tea on Thursday, May 5th and Friday, May 6th. The children love having this special time with their mommies. We do hope you can all join us.

Thank you parents for a great school year! Your children are the best! It’s been so much fun getting to know each of them and their unique personalities! What a delight it has been to help them grow in independence and their “I can do it!” attitudes!

Sincerely,
Teacher Lisa and Teacher Lindsay

 April 2016

Our Community Helper theme was very interesting!  Our visit from the Menlo Park Police

Officers was a hit!  Celebrating the boys and girls during the Week of the Young Child was loads of fun!  The Busy Bees are getting to be such Can Do Kids!

Honk, honk
Rattle, rattle, rattle.
Crash, beep, beep!

The month of April is all about transportation – zoom, zoom, and more zoom!  The Wheels on the Bus and Little Red Caboose are just a couple of the songs we will be singing this month.  We will be learning all about how to get from here to there, up in the air or on the ground!

Red means STOP, green means GO, yellow means SLOW down!

Happy Spring!
Teacher Lisa and Teacher Lindsay

March 2016

Exploring the circus was tons of fun!  We enjoyed learning about colors and shapes, and of course, clowning around, too!  The Valentine’s Day parties were exciting!  The Busy Bees really enjoyed delivering their special Valentines to their friends.

This month we will be learning about Community Helpers.  The kids will discover all the different ways these helpers take care of us.  We will also have Week of the Young Child coming up which will be filled with lots of fun activities for our special Busy Bees!  And we will be talking about Easter and make some cute Easter art.  This will be a busy and very exciting month for the Busy Bees!

Community Helpers
(tune: Are You Sleeping?)

Community helpers, community helpers,
In our town, in our town,
Teacher and librarians,
Fire fighter, doctors,
Help us learn, keep us safe.

Have a marvelous March!
Teacher Lisa and Teacher Lindsay

February 2016

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages…we’re off to the circus this month.  February will be filled with colors, shapes, animals, and valentines too!  We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a LOVELY party and passing out valentines to our friends.  Be watching for more details!

Here is a fun poem about colors to practice at home with your little ones:

I love colors,
Yes, I do!
Red, orange, green and blue.
I love colors,
Dark or bright,
Yellow, purple, black and white!

It’s that time of year!   We will be having lots of birthdays in the next few months.  If you would like to bring a birthday treat for your child, please let Teacher Lisa know in advance. Thank you!

Love, love is in the air! We can feel it everywhere! Have a lovely month!

Teacher Lisa and Teacher Lindsay

December 2015

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas...especially in the Busy Bee classroom! Our Busy Bees are filled with anticipation and an abundance of pure joy! It’s such a delight to see the sparkle in their eyes each day.  We will channel this enthusiasm as we make decorations and projects that will help us prepare for Jesus’ birthday…the reason for all of our celebrating!

We have been busy practicing our special songs for the Young Child Christmas Service – Christmas in Our Jammies! It will be fun to wear our PJ’s as we come and sing at our special service.  Ask your child to sing our song to you…

”Mary sang an itty-bitty song, an itty bitty song to Jesus!
Mary sang an itty-bitty song, an itty-bitty song to Jesus.

Rock-a-bye baby, itty-bitty baby.  Rock-a-bye baby, close your eyes.
Rock-a-bye baby, itty-bitty baby. Rock-a-bye baby, close your eyes.”

Our special Christmas poem we’re learning this month is:

Ring, ring, ring the bells,
Ring them loud and clear.
To tell the children everywhere,
That Christmastime is here.
(Repeat)

Christmas JOY and LOVE!
Teacher Lisa and Teacher Lindsay

November 2015

October was so exciting with our Halloween celebrations and projects but now we are ready to take an imaginary trip to the FARM! Chickens, horses, cows and pigs, oh my!  We will learn all about all the interesting animals that live on the farm. We will talk about the food that the animals give us and the foods that are grown on the farm.

Here is a cute FARM song we will be learning/singing this month.  Maybe you would like to sing it together at home, too!

THE ANIMALS ON THE FARM
(Tune:  Wheels on the Bus)

The cow in the barn goes moo, moo, moo,
Moo, moo, moo, moo, moo, moo,
The cow in the barn goes moo, moo, moo,
All around the farm!

The pig in the pen goes oink, oink, oink…
The hens in the coop go cluck, cluck, cluck…
The lambs on the hill go baa, baa, baa…
The ducks on the pond go quack, quack, quack…

We will also be talking about Thanksgiving and all the people and things that we are thankful for. We teachers are so very thankful for each and every little Busy Bee!

We look forward to an awesome month!

Your very thankful teachers,
Teacher Lisa and Teacher Lindsay

October 2015

Fall is here!  We love watching the change of seasons and watching your children grow and change, too! This month we will learn about fall and harvest time. We will explore scarecrows, apples, pumpkins, and have lots of Halloween fun, too!

Our class is settling into a routine and creating new friendships. All the children are happy and seem to love their time at school!

We will be learning (and singing) this poem this month. You can have some fun at home singing it with your child too!

The leaves are falling down,
The leaves are falling down,
Red, yellow, orange and brown,
The leaves are falling down!
(Tune: The Farmer in the Dell)

We’re excited for a great school year!

Happy fall!
Teacher Lisa, Teacher Lindsay and Teacher Lisa Lynn
